Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 August 2026 · taxinvoice.co.za
These Terms govern your use of Tax Invoice SA (the “Service”) at taxinvoice.co.za. The Service is operated by Johann Beukes, a sole proprietor trading as Tax Invoice SA (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Johann Beukes, trading as Tax Invoice SA, South Africa. Email: taxinvoicesa@gmail.com. Contact form: contact.html. Physical address: available on written request to the Information Officer (home-based sole proprietor). Information Officer: Johann Beukes.
2. What the Service is
The Service is a web tool to create, customise, download and (when signed in) store invoices and quotes, and optionally print banking details or payment-page links. It is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned or emergency maintenance may occur without a formal SLA.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under South African law. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.
4. Accuracy of documents — your responsibility
You are solely responsible for every invoice and quote you create, including calculations, your registered details and VAT number, client details, banking details, payment terms and whether VAT applies. We do not review or guarantee correctness. Check a document before sending it or relying on it.
5. Not tax, legal or accounting advice
Tax Invoice SA is not a registered tax practice, accounting firm or law firm. Nothing on the Service is tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. The 15% VAT toggle is a convenience. Layouts are SARS-style only. You must confirm that each document complies with SARS and the VAT Act 89 of 1991 (including unique serial invoice numbers and required fields). If in doubt, consult a registered tax practitioner.
6. Client personal information
If you store a client’s personal information, you warrant that you may do so. We process it as your operator to provide the Service. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Plans, price, cancellation and refunds
The Free plan lets you generate documents in the browser, with limits described on the Pricing page (including 5 saved invoices and 5 saved quotes per calendar month).
Starter is R49 per month, billed in advance in South African Rand via Paystack. We are not currently registered for VAT; if we register, prices will be shown inclusive of VAT and we will give reasonable notice of any change.
By starting a paid subscription you ask us to provide paid features immediately. You may cancel at any time from Dashboard → Account. Cancellation stops future Paystack charges. Paid features end when cancellation is processed (usually at once). We do not refund the current billing month except where the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 requires a refund — for example if we materially misdescribed the Service. Saved documents remain on the Free plan after cancel.
We may change prices on at least 30 days’ notice to the email on your account. If you do not agree, cancel before the new price applies.
8. Fair use
You agree not to: reverse engineer the Service; run bots or bulk tools to spam-create accounts or documents; bypass plan limits or security; generate fraudulent or unlawful documents; or interfere with other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, with notice where reasonably practicable, and without prior notice for fraud, abuse or legal risk.
9. Intellectual property and your content
We own the software, design, branding and templates. You keep ownership of the invoices, quotes and data you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, display and process that content solely to provide the Service. You may download and use generated PDFs and Word files for your business. You may not copy the Service itself or resell it as your own product.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under South African law, including the CPA — in particular liability for gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Subject to that, we are not liable for: SARS penalties, interest or audits arising from documents you generate; unpaid or disputed client invoices; or loss of profit, data or business caused by downtime, bugs or your own errors. Where we are liable, our total liability for all claims in a 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim (or R49 if you are on the Free plan).
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted on the website and, where reasonably practicable, emailed or shown in-app. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any paid plan.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You may bring a claim in a competent South African court. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. Nothing here limits your rights under the CPA if you are a consumer.
